ACRF contributes $10,000 to improve radiological care in Nepal

The American College of Radiology Foundation contributed $10,000 to RAD-AID International to improve radiological care in Nepal. Two devastating earthquakes struck that country in spring 2015, resulting in the deaths of about 9,000 individuals, the displacement of hundreds of thousands and the destruction of homes and infrastructure affecting 2 million people.

Two-stage CDS system reduces risk of adverse outcomes for sepsis patients

Sepsis is an inflammatory response to infection that's known to develop in hospital settings and can turn deadly when it's not discovered early on. In a new study, a hospital surveillance program focusing on reducing the risks of sepsis, known as the two-stage Clinical Decision Support (CDS) system, was found to reduce the risk of adverse outcomes, such as death and hospice discharge for sepsis patients, by 30% over the course of one year.
