Springer launches American Joint Committee on Cancer e-Staging Tool

Springer is launching the AJCC e-Staging Tool, a web-based application which will improve the way cancer is staged. Designed to meet the needs of the entire multidisciplinary team in any facility that deals with cancer, the AJCC e-Staging Tool makes the process quicker, more efficient and more accurate. The content draws from the highly successful AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, 7th edition, published by Springer in 2010.

U.S. Army re-awards Patient Appointing Services bridge contracts to Health Net Federal Services

Health Net Federal Services, LLC, part of the Government Contracts segment of Health Net, Inc. today announced it was re-awarded three Patient Appointing Services bridge contracts, continuing its Patient Appointing Services work in Fort Irwin and Puget Sound through March 31, 2011, and in Great Lakes through January 31, 2011, by the United States Army's Center for Health Care Contracting, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Each contract includes an option to extend services for an additional six months.

NHPCO releases report on hospice care in U.S

An estimated 41.6 percent of all people who died in the U.S. last year were under the care of a hospice program, reports the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (up from 38.8 percent in 2008 and 35 percent in 2007).

AOA launches 'Break Through Your Pain' public education campaign

If you're living in pain, you're certainly not alone. According to a new survey released today by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) nearly 70% of Americans report that they, or someone they care for, have experienced pain during the past 30 days. While Congress declared 2000 to 2010 the "Decade of Pain Control and Research," chronic, or reoccurring pain still affects more Americans than cancer, diabetes and heart disease combined. In fact, more than 76 million people live in pain every day.

iMDsoft to install MetaVision clinical information system across Queensland's network of public hospitals
