Advaxis to license its ADXS-HPV product candidate to FusionVax

Advaxis, Inc., a leader in developing the next generation of immunotherapies for cancer and infectious diseases, announced that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FusionVax, Inc. ("FusionVax") setting forth the main terms under which Advaxis will, subject to the entry of a definitive agreement, exclusively license its lead clinical stage product candidate, ADXS-HPV, to FusionVax for Asia.

Synta Pharmaceuticals Corp. announced today that the first patients have been treated in the randomized GALAXY-2 Phase 3 trial designed to evaluate docetaxel plus ganetespib, its investigational Hsp90 inhibitor, versus docetaxel alone for the second-line treatment of non-small cell lung adenocarcinoma.

Study indentifies unmet medical need for treatment of patients with chronic pain and dysphagia

Collegium Pharmaceutical, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development of innovative treatments for chronic pain, today announced the completion of a research study, conducted with an independent market research firm, that identified a significant unmet medical need for improved treatments for patients with chronic pain and dysphagia/odynophagia. In clinical practice, dysphagia is most often defined as difficulty in swallowing and odynophagia is defined as pain upon swallowing.

Despite USPSTF controversial recommendations, mammogram rate did not decline

More than three years after the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommended against routine mammogram screening for women between the ages of 40 and 49, a study from Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) finds that mammogram rates in the United States have not declined in that age group, or any other. The study results are published in the April 19, 2013 online edition of the journal Cancer.
