Australian anti-cancer company completes $2.6 million placement

Australian monoclonal antibody company, Immune System Therapeutics Limited (IST), today said it completed a private placement to raise $2 million from new and existing private and institutional investors in Australia. Investors have agreed to purchase 5,200,000 shares in the company at a price of $0.50 cents per share resulting in gross proceeds of $2.6 million.

Senate Commission compiles new threshold limit values for dusts

The 2011 MAK and BAT Values List compiled by the Commission for the Investigation of Health Hazards of Chemical Compounds in the Work Area, a Senate Commission of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation), recommends reducing the general threshold limit value for dust for the alveolar fraction in light of recent studies and classifies such dusts as carcinogenic when these thresholds are exceeded.

Results of an international survey reveal that over 85% of respondents in the five countries surveyed say that if they were exhibiting confusion and memory loss, they would want to see a doctor to determine if the cause of the symptoms was Alzheimer's disease. Over 94% would want the same if a family member were exhibiting the symptoms.
