Amgen appeals EMA CHMP negative opinion on Vectibix-chemotherapy combination for wild-type KRAS mCRC

Amgen announced today that it has submitted a request to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for a re-examination of the negative opinion issued in March by the Committee For Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) for the use of Vectibix in combination with chemotherapy for patients with wild-type KRAS metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC).

Researchers using two brain-imaging technologies have found that apparently normal older individuals with brain deposits of amyloid beta - the primary constituent of the plaques found in the brains of Alzheimer's disease patients - also had changes in brain structure similar to those seen in Alzheimer's patients.

More than 100 radiation oncology treatment team members and resident physicians convened in Washington Monday and Tuesday to represent radiation oncology on Capitol Hill at the American Society for Radiation Oncology's (ASTRO) eighth annual Advocacy Day.
