Niclosamide drug effective against colon cancer metastasis

RHEI receives Chinese SFDA acceptance letter for MuGard

ACCESS PHARMACEUTICALS, INC., a biopharmaceutical company leveraging its proprietary drug-delivery platforms to develop treatments in areas of oncology, diabetes, and RNAi, announced that its MuGard partner in China, RHEI Pharmaceuticals has received the acceptance letter from the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) of China acknowledging all necessary documentation for the MuGard has been submitted and accepted.

Groupe d'Etude des Lymphomes de l'Adulte (GELA) and Celgene International Sarl today announced a collaboration to conduct an international randomized study to evaluate the therapeutic potential of the REVLIMID/rituximab combination regimen (R2) in patients with newly diagnosed follicular lymphoma.

When Dorothy Jambrosek, 47, decided to donate a kidney to a stranger, she didn't realize that her goodwill would save her own life. After undergoing a series of tests required to give a kidney, doctors discovered that Jambrosek had precancerous lesions in her breast that could become cancerous.

Allos Therapeutics reports results from FOLOTYN pivotal trial against peripheral T-cell lymphoma

Allos Therapeutics, Inc. today reported results from a retrospective analysis of data from the Company's pivotal PROPEL trial which suggested that treatment with single-agent FOLOTYN may result in increased response rates and progression-free survival relative to the immediate prior line of therapy in patients with relapsed or refractory peripheral T-cell lymphoma.

Experimental vaccine shows promise for patients with newly diagnosed brain tumors

An experimental vaccine developed by researchers at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute targets overactive antigens in highly aggressive brain tumors and improves length of survival in newly diagnosed patients, according to new data that was presented in a poster session at the 47th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

A gel that creates a watertight seal to close surgical wounds provides a significant advance in the treatment of patients following spinal procedures, effectively sealing spinal wounds 100 percent of the time, a national multicenter randomized study led by researchers at UC Davis has found.
