Seattle Genetics, Agensys present ASG-5ME ADC preclinical data at 101st AACR

Seattle Genetics, Inc. and Agensys, Inc., an affiliate of Tokyo-based Astellas Pharma Inc., today reported preclinical data with ASG-5ME, an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) that is being co-developed by both companies for the treatment of solid tumors. In models of human prostate and pancreatic cancer, ASG-5ME was found to have potent and long lasting antitumor activity. The findings were presented at the 101st Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) being held in Washington, D.C.

CDI's iCell Cardiomyocytes named to MIT Technology Review's Annual 10 Emerging Technologies List

Cellular Dynamics International (CDI) today announced that CDI's development and commercialization of human cardiomyocytes for drug discovery and toxicity testing, based on the work of CDI co-founder and chief scientific officer, James A. A research team today reported clinical results of a new method for analyzing the molecular activity of cancer drugs for solid tumors using skin biopsies. The approach, enabled by Cambridge Research & Instrumentation, Inc.'s imaging and analysis systems, was presented in a poster session at the American Association of Cancer Research's Annual Meeting in Washington D.C.

Alchemia’s HyACT tumour targeting technology enhances killing of cancer stem cells

Alchemia's subsidiary Alchemia Oncology today presented two posters at the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) 101st Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. The data demonstrates the ability of the Company's HyACT tumour targeting technology to dramatically enhance the killing of cancer stem cells. Initial results of gallium-containing compound to treat serious infection presented at AACR 2010

Genta Incorporated today announced the presentation of initial results from the first human use of a gallium-containing compound to treat serious infection. In a patient with cystic fibrosis and a highly resistant lung infection, who has been treated over a 2-year period, high concentrations of gallium were achieved in sputum.
