Vegetables slow growth of prostate cancer in mice

Chemicals in cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, watercress, cabbage and cauliflower, appear to stop human prostate cancer cells from growing in mice by affecting the expression of proteins, says a University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute study

Division of the penile suspensory ligament with or without the additional procedures of suprapubic fat pad excision and inverted VY plasty is a simple and commonly used penile lengthening technique. A recent study by C. Y. Li and colleagues from London examined patient satisfaction with penile suspensory ligament division for penile augmentation.

Quinolone use has surpased Sulfa antibiotics for the treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women

Sulfa drugs have traditionally been the most frequently prescribed antibiotics for women with uncomplicated UTIs. However, quinolone use has increased with the emergence of sulfa-resistant E. coli strains, which has been shown to approach 20% in some regions of the country.

Interestingly, only 25% of men with rising PSA after RP have a positive prostatic fossa biopsy, yet 70% of men with a negative biopsy will have their PSA decline to undetectable levels following salvage external beam radiotherapy.
