FDA grants Premarket Approval for Roche Diagnostics' Elecsys Antibody to hepatitis C virus assay

Roche Diagnostics announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted Premarket Approval for its Elecsys Antibody to hepatitis C virus (anti-HCV) assay. The Elecsys Anti-HCV assay is an in-vitro diagnostic test for the qualitative detection of total antibodies to hepatitis C virus in human serum or plasma.

Dr Martin Muschol, Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida’s (USF) Department of Physics and his team are carrying out important research to gain a better understanding of protein aggregation phenomena, including protein crystallization and amyloid fibril growth. Early, accurate detection of superficial bladder cancer with Olympus PDD

With Olympus photodynamic diagnosis (PDD), superficial bladder cancer can be detected earlier, easier and more accurately. Bladder cancer is diagnosed by cystoscopy, the endoscopic introduction of a light source through the urethra (transurethral) into the bladder. The imaging technology PDD uses blue light to increase the contrast between tumour tissue (red) and healthy tissue (blue).
