Growth in demand for Noveko International's antimicrobial products

Noveko International Inc. ("the Company") is pleased to announce that the value of its firm orders for its Noveko(TM) antimicrobial face masks and respirators and AZURO(TM) hand sanitizers, for the period beginning July 1st, 2009, currently totals approximately $18 million, i.e. $12 million for face masks and respirators and $6 million for sanitizers. This significant number of orders reflects the sharp increase in demand for the Company's antimicrobial products. The orders come mainly from various distributors, notably Eval Consulting, BLD Distribution L.L.C., Aerosys Technologies and Medi-Select.

Walgreens ensures that all its pharmacies can provide Tamiflu

Less than a month after launching the largest flu prevention initiative in the company’s 108-year history, Walgreens is taking proactive measures to ensure its nearly 7,000 pharmacies can provide the suspension - or liquid - form of seasonal flu-fighting drug Tamiflu this season. Following Tamiflu manufacturer Roche’s notification that Tamiflu Oral Suspension is in short supply, Walgreens pharmacies in all 50 states are prepared to compound Tamiflu capsules into the liquid form to produce an Oral Suspension prescription. Tamiflu capsules remain in adequate supply.

Study compares benefits of laparoscopic and traditional open surgery for prostate cancer

The more things change, the more they stay the same, as the proverb goes. A study appearing in an upcoming edition of The Journal of Oncology appears to prove just that. The study compares the benefits of laparoscopic surgery versus traditional open surgery in the treatment of prostate cancer. With traditional surgery, surgeons remove the prostate gland via an incision below the belly button.

Regence offers coverage to meet the costs associated with H1N1

To remove financial barriers associated with administration of the H1N1 vaccine and to encourage members to seek vaccination, Regence BlueCross BlueShield will provide coverage for the costs associated with the administration of the H1N1 vaccine during the 2009-2010 flu season, waiving co-pays and deductibles for all members covered by its insured plans. Regence will strongly encourage self-insured employers to cover the full cost to ensure that the greatest number of people are protected.
