Health plan decision-makers will gather at the annual SHPS Healthcare Symposium to learn from industry experts and collaborate with peers regarding the latest developments in the healthcare industry. This year's symposium will focus on how to make patient-centered care a reality, including the future of healthcare and establishing medical homes.

The keynote address, "Healthcare Reform: What Does it Mean for Patient-Centered Care?" will be delivered by Hunter Bates, a senior partner at the c2 Group. Having been involved in public policy and advocacy for many years, including several recent legislative efforts such as healthcare reform, Mr. Bates will provide a non-partisan perspective on the implications of key legislative proposals for health plans and patient-centered care.

"Our annual symposium comes at a critical time as health plans are evaluating key next steps in preparation for healthcare reform," said Rishabh Mehrotra, president and CEO of SHPS, a leading provider of health improvement and health benefits solutions. "This symposium facilitates collaboration among care management thought leaders on overcoming challenges and sharing best practices for patient-centered care."

Industry experts will share their perspective on trends and what it takes to stay competitive in this changing clinical landscape. Joanne Galimi, research vice president, industry advisory services of Gartner, will address the ongoing shift to the member-centric model and how care management solutions are critical to facilitating that shift.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to observe the industry's first large-scale implementation of CareRadius, a Web-based care management solution. Jay Dunlap, general manager for Landacorp, a SHPS company, says, "We are excited to demonstrate the capabilities of CareRadius live at a client's site. CareRadius is designed to adapt to the changing healthcare landscape and support a variety of clinical strategies."
