The University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) today announced agreements for executive recruitment services: one with Furst Group, based in Rockford, Ill., and one with Witt/Kieffer, Ford, Hadelman, Lloyd Corporation, based in Oak Brook, Ill. The agreements became effective on February 1, 2010.

Furst Group is a retained executive search firm that has built a reputation for recruiting and retaining progressive leaders for more than 25 years. It provides a full range of effective solutions to the human-capital challenges facing hospitals, medical groups, and other health care organizations across the country, from executive search to talent alignment to market assessment. Furst Group is known for creating transparent and collaborative partnerships.

Witt/Kieffer is the nation's eighth largest executive search firm and the only one that focuses exclusively on health care, higher education, and not-for-profits. Witt/Kieffer's consultants have a strong understanding of the structure of academic and clinical enterprises, their internal collaborative relationships, and their missions of teaching, research, and patient care. The firm's consultative approach to executive search includes developing a strategic partnership with search committees, trustees, and senior leaders, and a rigorous customized process to identify outstanding leaders.

"UHC is proud to partner with these exceptional firms to assist our members in recruiting their organizations' most important asset - people," said Cindy White, UHC vice president, Operations. "Expert recruitment strategies are valuable in meeting the challenge of finding the right leaders for academic medical centers."
