Virginia Magazine Releases Annual List of Peer-Selected 'Top Doctors'

Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States announced today that 70 Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group physicians were named among the region's "Top Doctors" in Northern Virginia Magazine's February 2011 edition.

"Having 70 physicians recognized as 'Top Doctors' in the Northern Virginia area is a testament to the fact that Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group physicians are superior experts in their fields of practice and provide outstanding patient care," noted Bernadette Loftus, MD, The Permanente Medical Group Associate Executive Director for the Mid-Atlantic States. "It's an honor for the individual physicians and for the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group to receive the recognition that this peer-selected list of 'Top Doctors' carries."

The annual list is compiled based on peer and panel recommendations. Panels consist of physicians affiliated with medical centers around the region, including the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Group, according to Northern Virginia Magazine. Panels nominate doctors based on internal evaluations, patient reviews, and overall quality of care.
