CementBloc launches CopyMasons training program for development of copywriters

The CementBloc launched a training and mentoring program this week, called CopyMasons, exclusively for the development of copywriters who are new to health and wellness communications.

CopyMasons was created to fill the void of meaningful training and mentorship in the industry. The program's mission is to nurture the copy craft for writers in the early stages of their career.

"There is an underserved need in our industry to go beyond managing to actual mentorship—and that need is especially underscored at the very beginning of your career," said Michael Austin, Creative Director of Copy at The CementBloc. "Beyond just having a few classes for our juniors, we wanted to create a program that establishes The Bloc as the destination agency to start and grow a career in copy."

Copywriters who are recruited into the 2-year program will rotate between accounts, gaining experience across multiple categories and stakeholders. Additionally, they will complete various phases of curriculum and maintain a consistent relationship with a personal mentor.

"Our goal is to provide junior writers with the mentorship we wish we had received when we were just starting out," said Stephanie Berman, Partner at The CementBloc. "It benefits everybody to foster learning—new writers get to start their career in an inspiring and supportive environment, fledgling managers have the opportunity to shape a junior's growth, and The Bloc benefits from having a motivated copy department with best-in-class training."
