Three skilled nursing centers in Texas to provide free flu shots to seniors

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Colonial Manor Cleburne, Advanced Healthcare of Garland and Winfield Rehab and Nursing, top-notch rehabilitation and skilled nursing centers, located in Cleburne, Garland, and Crockett, Texas, will be providing free flu shots to seniors 65 and above on January 22, 23 & 27 2014 from 10 AM - 2 PM.

"We are concerned for the health and well being of our seniors whether or not they are currently a resident of our facility," stated David Henton, Administrator at the Colonial Manor. With 25 states reporting moderate to high flu activity, this year's strain is expected to be particularly deadly and citizens are advised to get flu vaccinations as soon as possible.

Kathy Ciresi, VP of Business Development for Advanced Healthcare Solutions, a consortium of Texas area skilled nursing facilities of which these facilities are members, believes this is the strongest strain of the flu since 2009's swine flu. "Anyone can be affected by the flu. But those who are young or elderly and especially those nursing prevailing conditions such as diabetes and asthma are particularly susceptible. I hope Garland area residents come out for our free flu shot event, as the best defense against H1N1 is to be vaccinated early."

Flu Shots will be distributed from 10:00am – 2:00pm

Wednesday, January 22 at Colonial Manor Cleburne, 2035 N Granbury St., Cleburne

Thursday, January 23 at Advanced Healthcare of Garland, 505 W Centerville Rd, Garland

Monday, January 27, Winfield Rehab and Nursing, 1108 E Loop 304 Crockett
