Having just read this excellent article I feel I must comment on one particular part of it.
I am slightly concerned that it states No benefits were associated with screening of men under 55 years old. I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer when just 47 years old and due to the fantastic skill of professor Chris Ogden at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea I am still here 9 years later. I had a radical prostectomy by Da Vinci Robot and it basically saved my life as I had a very high Gleason score that would have led to a very aggressive cancer. I am a strong believer that all men should be screened at age 50 then early diagnosis could be possible in thousands of cases. It is alarming to see the incidence rates are rising so rapidly and that this disease is claiming the lives of so many men. Surely it is time for an early screening programme is adopted.   Rob drumgold
