First and foremost well done to the team who made this breakthrough! This is great news!

An impaired or missing sense of smell does not get the attention that other sensory impairments get, such as being short of sight or hearing. However, being without a sense of smell can impact someone's life greatly - from the smell of freshly cut grass to detecting a gas leak.

My partner suffers from congenital anosmia and, in an area which seems under-researched and under-funded, this is a glimmer of hope for her to appreciate what others take for granted.

I wish the team the best of luck in swiftly discovering or engineering a safe, usable and cost-effective human solution.
