    An impaired or missing sense of smell does not get the attention that other sensory impairments get, such as being short of sight or hearing. However, being without a sense of smell can impact someone's life greatly - from the smell of freshly cut grass to detecting a gas leak.

    My partner suffers from congenital anosmia and, in an area which seems under-researched and under-funded, this is a glimmer of hope for her to appreciate what others take for granted.

    I wish the team the best of luck in swiftly discovering or engineering a safe, usable and cost-effective human solution.
