    This new study is doing more harm than good. Alarmist doctors are trying to make it seem like autism is spiking and that we'll need more services to keep up. But if you look at the data, it is clear that autism isn't necessarily rising but that the standards for diagnosing it are becoming less stringent. That means that high functioning autism spectrum sufferers (which includes myself, a fully functional adult who needs no treatment) are being lumped in with the ones who need special care.
