AtlasPlex™ brings custom 5-plex IHC on FFPE tissue into a single day

Atlas Antibodies has launched AtlasPlex™, a new ready-to-use multiplex immunohistochemistry kit. It lets researchers build their own 3- or 5-plex panels from more than 17,000 IHC-validated antibodies covering over 12,000 human genes.

Why multiplex IHC is hard

Seeing several proteins on the same tissue section shows how cells are organized and how they relate to each other. That kind of spatial information matters in cancer, immunology, and many other fields. But most multiplex IHC workflows are hard to set up and hard to adapt.

Many are limited by fixed marker panels, so researchers can only stain the targets someone else has chosen. Building your own panel means matching the host species of each primary antibody to a different secondary antibody. And removing antibodies between rounds usually requires harsh stripping steps, which can damage the tissue.

How AtlasPlex solves it

AtlasPlex removes these steps. Its antibodies come pre-biotinylated and pre-complexed with HRP, and the signal comes from tyramide signal amplification (TSA). This gives researchers:

  • No secondary antibodies: Fewer steps and less optimization.
  • No species restrictions: The assay works regardless of host species, so researchers are free to combine the markers they need.
  • No harsh stripping: Between rounds, the HRP is quenched instead of stripped, which helps preserve tissue.
  • Strong, permanent signal: TSA deposits a permanent fluorescent label at each target.
  • Up to five markers in one day: Each cycle takes about 1.5 hours.
  • A wide catalog: Panels can be built from more than 17,000 IHC-validated antibodies covering over 12,000 human genes.
  • Data you can check: Every antibody is linked to its tissue data in the Human Protein Atlas.
  • Standard equipment: Slides are imaged on a standard wide-field fluorescence microscope, so no specialized imaging system is required.

Build your own panel

Researchers choose their targets through the Kit Configurator on the Atlas Antibodies website. Every antibody is linked to its tissue data in the Human Protein Atlas, so researchers can check where and how each protein is expressed before they build their panel.

Applications

AtlasPlex is designed for researchers who need flexible, reliable multiplex staining on FFPE tissue. Applications include spatial biology, tumor microenvironment studies, and biomarker discovery.
