A hormone is a chemical released by one or more cells that affects cells in other parts of the organism. Only a small amount of hormone is required to alter cell metabolism. It is essentially a chemical messenger that transports a signal from one cell to another.

The answer may be due to a gene inherited from the Neanderthals, an extinct species or subspecies of archaic humans who lived in Eurasia until about 40,000 years ago.

Clinical trial shows anti-tumor responses in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer patients

The preliminary results of a Phase I clinical trial conducted by researchers at the Yale Cancer Center have shown that ARV-110, an androgen receptor PROTAC protein degrader, demonstrates clinical evidence of anti-tumor responses in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) who have failed prior therapy.
