Restated 2008 and 2009 financial results released by The Center for Wound Healing

The Center for Wound Healing, Inc. (OTCBB:CFWH), a leading operator of comprehensive wound care treatment centers that offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as well as other advanced wound care treatment modalities, today announced that the Company’s consolidated financial statements for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 and for the year ended June 30, 2008 need to be restated as described below, and that investors should no longer rely upon those consolidated financial statements. The Company will file an amendment to the 2008 Form 10-QSB and 2008 Form 10-KSB to restate the 2008 Financial Statements as soon as practicable.

New treatment for facial wrinkles combines high-intensity light and green tea extract lotion

Scientists in Germany are reporting a major improvement in their potential new treatment for facial wrinkles that could emerge as an alternative to Botox and cosmetic surgery. The non-invasive technique combines high-intensity light from light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and a lotion made of green tea extract. It works ten times faster than a similar anti-wrinkle treatment that uses LEDs alone, the researchers say.

New technique for tumor therapy under study

In the scientific journal PLoS ONE, Sara Bartels and Siegfried Weiss of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig, Germany now show how the bacteria migrate into tumours. A messenger substance from the immune system is the door opener: It makes blood vessels in the cancerous tissue permeable; enabling the bacteria to conquer and destroy the tumour.

Phenotype microarrays compare growth characteristics of pathogenic and non-pathogenic E. coli

Dr Karin Heurlier and colleagues at the Universities of Nottingham and Birmingham in conjunction with Biolog Inc of California USA, used powerful high throughput analytical tools (phenotype microarrays) that enabled them to compare about 2000 growth characteristics of several pathogenic (disease-causing) E. coli with a non-pathogenic laboratory E. coli strain.
