These data were presented in an oral presentation titled Pilot Study To Evaluate The Prevalence Of Actionable Oncogenic Mutations In Patients With Relapsed Refractory Multiple Myeloma (abstract number 755) by Alexander Lesokhin, M.D., medical oncologist, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, at the 55th American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting in New Orleans.

ACoS Commission on Cancer, PHCQA partner to make PA cancer quality data available to public

The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer has joined with the Pennsylvania Health Care Quality Alliance to make cancer quality data from participating Pennsylvania hospitals available to the public. The initiative, which is the first of its kind in the U.S., will include data from 72 percent (52 programs) of all CoC-accredited cancer programs in Pennsylvania.

For several years, epilepsy practitioners have questioned the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's definition of bioequivalence as it applies to narrow therapeutic index drugs, such as those used for epilepsy. In response to these concerns, the FDA has sponsored 3 studies of antiepileptic drugs and also convened an advisory board to help determine which drugs are NTI.

Studies expose high prevalence of epilepsy and other neurological disorders in US Veterans

Three studies coming out of the American Epilepsy Society's 67th Annual Meeting in Washington DC expose the high prevalence of epilepsy and other neurological disorders in US Veterans who served in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. The research conducted from these studies indicate that veterans are at a particularly high risk for traumatic brain injury, post traumatic stress disorder, psychological non-epileptic seizures and epileptic seizure diagnoses.
