Sunlight may decrease risk of advanced breast cancer

A research team from the Northern California Cancer Center, the University of Southern California, and Wake Forest University School of Medicine has found that increased exposure to sunlight – which increases levels of vitamin D in the body -- may decrease the risk of advanced breast cancer.

British doctors say cut the time limit for abortions

At present the current limit for abortions is 24 weeks, but a survey of 1,000 GPs by Marie Stopes International, found 65 per cent thought the current 24-week abortion limit should be cut; of these, 62 per cent said the upper limit should remain within 20 to 23 weeks.

Breast cancer radiation does not affect women's immune system

A new study shows that neither of two commonly used radiation treatments for early-stage, node-negative breast cancer has any effect on a woman's immune system, even though women who receive five-day partial-breast radiation therapy (MammoSite brachytherapy) (PBRT) have improved energy and quality of life compared to women who undergo six weeks of whole-breast radiation therapy (WBRT).
