The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) has awarded 13 collaborative research grants and 3 individual research grants, totaling $1.54 million. The 16 grants represent a portion of the science grant program at the Foundation, which will award more than $2 million this year to cancer research.

OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today that all of its 2% Convertible Senior Subordinated Notes due 2025 have been surrendered for conversion, as provided for in the Indenture governing the notes. LSUHSC Professor awarded $2.1M grant to determine role of PCP

Dr. Jay Kolls, Professor and Chairman of Genetics at the LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans School of Medicine, has been awarded a $2.1 million grant over five years by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health to determine the role and identify which T-helper cells fight the opportunistic infection, Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia, which can be a complication of HIV/AIDS.
