Acceleron Pharma announces study results of its ACE-011 and ACE-536 blood forming agents

Acceleron Pharma, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company developing novel therapeutics that modulate the growth of cells and tissues including red blood cells, bone, muscle, fat, and the vasculature, today announced that results from preclinical and clinical studies of two, novel blood forming agents, ACE-011 and ACE-536, will be presented at the 51st Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology at the Ernest N. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries submits a BLA for its G-CSF XM02

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., today announced the submission of a Biologics License Application (BLA) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for XM02, a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) for the reduction in the duration of severe neutropenia and the incidence of febrile neutropenia in patients treated with established myelosuppressive chemotherapy for cancer.

Varian Medical Systems' RapidArc radiotherapy enables faster stereotactic treatment of lung tumors

Researchers from VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam have reported that RapidArc® radiotherapy from Varian Medical Systems has clinical advantages over earlier fixed-beam approaches to stereotactic treatments of lung tumors. Their findings, based on treatment of 85 medically inoperable lung cancer patients, were reported at the recent annual meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) in Chicago and a condensed version has been published in the 'Green Journal' (Radiotherapy and Oncology) 93 (2009).
