T-DXd leads to longer overall survival in HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer patients than T-DM1

Second-line treatment with trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) led to significantly longer overall survival compared with trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer, according to updated results from the DESTINY-Breast03 phase III clinical trial presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, held December 6-10, 2022.

T-DXd shows high efficacy in HER2-positive breast cancer patients previously treated with T-DM1

Compared with capecitabine-based regimens, trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) led to higher response rates and longer survival in the third-line setting for patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer previously treated with trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1), according to results from the phase III DESTINY-Breast02 trial presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, held December 6-10, 2022.

Study reports overall response of HER2-low breast cancer patients to neoadjuvant T-DXd treatment

Patients with localized, hormone receptor-positive, HER2-low breast cancer treated with trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd, Enhertu) in the neoadjuvant setting had an overall response rate of 75 percent in the absence of anastrozole and 63 percent in combination with anastrozole, according to results from the phase II TRIO-US B-12 TALENT trial presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, held December 6-10, 2022.
