Electronic nose may help identify asthma in patients: CHEST

New evidence shows that an "electronic nose" containing an array of gas sensors may have the ability to identify asthma in patients. Researchers from Italy compared the diagnostic performance of the electronic nose with lung function tests and fraction of exhaled nitric oxide in seven patients with asthma and seven healthy subjects.

A study of healthy new mothers in the April 1 issue of the journal Sleep found that the perception of poor sleep and the conscious awareness of its impact on daytime functioning might be stronger predictors of immediate postpartum mood disturbances than actual sleep quality and quantity.

Depomed licensee submits DM-1796 NDA for management of PHN

Depomed, Inc. today announced that its licensee has submitted a New Drug Application (NDA) for DM-1796 to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the management of postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), or pain after shingles.
