Analysis finds no evidence that inclusion of retinyl palmitate in sunscreens can cause cancer

Despite previous concerns about the cancer-causing potential of sunscreens containing retinyl palmitate (vitamin A), an independent analysis published online in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology determined that there is no evidence that the inclusion of retinyl palmitate in sunscreens can cause cancer in humans.

Teleflex announces closing of $400 million 3.875% Convertible Senior Subordinated Notes offering

Teleflex Incorporated today announced it closed its $400 million offering of its 3.875% Convertible Senior Subordinated Notes due 2017, which amount includes $50 million in connection with the exercise in full by the underwriters of their option to purchase additional notes. Goldman, Sachs & Co., Jefferies & Company, Inc., Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated, BofA Merrill Lynch and J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. acted as underwriters.

Language Line University offers new scalable online training tool for medical interpreters

FDA grants Orphan Drug Designation to YM BioSciences' JAK1/2 inhibitor

Nautilus announces conviction of exercise equipment counterfeiters

In its continuing actions against counterfeiters of Bowflex® products, fitness company Nautilus, Inc. cooperated with and aided U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in obtaining the conviction of Chunchai "Katherine" Yu for bribery and trafficking in counterfeit exercise equipment. Yu was convicted by a federal jury in southern California on July 15, 2010 and faces a maximum sentence of 90 years in prison and fines totalling $12.5 million.
