It involves developing a multimedia system in order to undertake visual monitoring of epidemiology in isolated areas of Paraguay and thus avoid the dengue plague and other febrile illnesses.

New approach may circumvent lost response in insulin due to obesity

Researchers at Children's Hospital Boston have identified a new strategy for treating type 2 diabetes, identifying a cellular pathway that fails when people become obese. By activating this pathway artificially, they were able to normalize blood glucose levels in severely obese and diabetic mice. Their findings will be published online by Nature Medicine on March 28.

"President Barack Obama 'burned a lot of bridges on health care reform,' DeMint said. 'To give up on repealing this bill will be giving up on this country.' ... Bachmann also slammed the health care bill, saying it will cause 'massive job loss'" (Bruno, 2/28).

While all names have been suppressed to protect the identities of those involved, the case has caught the imagination of the media. “Dr N” who admitted to professional misconduct before the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal was reported to have appealed to the High Court against being struck off by The Weekend Herald on Saturday. The appeal was unsuccessful.
