Right at Home, Inc, a leading provider of in-home companion and personal care assistance with more than 175 local independent franchisees in 41 states, has established international operations in South America. Right at Home will be expanding into Brazil under a Master Franchise agreement with Eduardo Chvaicer, who will open the initial Right at Home office location in Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo State, Brazil. The expansion into Brazil follows Right at Home’s recent launch into the United Kingdom in October. The company has achieved a 25 percent growth domestically in 2009.

“Despite our cultural differences, elders in America and Brazil face many of the same challenges. Individuals and families are seeking compassionate and flexible in-home services that allow them to stay in a familiar and comfortable environment for as long as possible.”

“We feel that our expansion into Latin America is a logical next step in our international expansion efforts,” according to Allen Hager, Right at Home founder and president. “Brazil has one of the fastest growing economies in the world and an aging population. According to the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography Statistics), 9.72 percent of the country’s total population (18.6 million out of 192 million people) are 60 years of age or older. That number could reach 30 percent by the year 2050. More than 62 percent of Brazilians in this age group are responsible for their dwellings and nearly 18 percent of them live alone.”
