AdvantEdge Healthcare Solutions (AHS), one of the nation’s leading providers of medical billing and practice management services, today announced that it has acquired Medical Account Services (MAS), the premier anesthesia billing company throughout Ohio. This agreement will expand AHS anesthesia billing and practice management operations, and enable the Company to serve additional anesthesia clients in Ohio. David Ackley, CEO and Founder of MAS, and recognized industry expert in anesthesia billing, will join the AHS team. Michael Monea, noted anesthesia billing and practice management expert, will continue his role providing MAS clients with consulting and practice management services.

“More money, faster. Practice financial data, available anytime, anywhere. Regulatory compliance, guaranteed. And, Client First service.”

“Adding MAS’ well-known management team and its extensive roster of clients will further enable AHS to leverage our technological capabilities, increase processing efficiencies, and maximize performance for all of our clients,” says David Langsam, President and CEO of AHS. “This acquisition reinforces AHS’ strategy to grow through partnerships with like-minded, hospital-based billing companies that serve our key target markets, and in this case, specifically anesthesia. We look forward to building on the foundation established by David Ackley and his team, and continuing to deliver the highest-quality billing solutions to all of our current and future clients.”

With almost 15 years serving Ohio anesthesiologists, MAS fits perfectly within AHS’ state-of-the-art technology platform. It efficiently collects financial information and speeds the reimbursement of third-party claims and patient payments. This enables anesthesia providers to maximize revenue and decrease its billing and practice management costs. The Dayton office will continue to support the Ohio client base and potentially provide services to additional AHS clientele as well.

“We are excited about joining AHS, and the opportunity to bring additional technology and solutions to our clients. The stability and breadth of AHS’ technology will ensure our clients continue to enjoy best-in-class service and outstanding financial results,” says Ackley. “The merging of our businesses will also deliver AHS’ outstanding Web-based reporting and dashboard tools to MAS clients. MAS’ extensive consulting and practice management expertise will enable AHS to expand those services for its clients.”

Today, fewer than 20 percent of physician practices outsource their billing and practice management. AHS’ proprietary software supports an optimized workflow for specialist physician billing and leads to improved revenue for their physician clients. The powerful billing technology runs on IBM System servers. AHS is the exclusive IBM VIP Business Partner for physician billing.
