HCC Medical Insurance Services, LLC (HCCMIS) received a nomination for the 2010 Techpoint Mira Awards. In its 11th year, the Mira Awards acknowledge advancements made by organizations and individuals in technology-related industries.

“enhance the healthcare experience related to insurance with the deeply personal and timely communication style people have become accustomed to through social media”

Nominated for their strides in Social Media within the highly regulated healthcare industry, HCCMIS is excited about what winning could mean for its business.

Mark Carney, President and CEO of HCCMIS states, "This nomination is a significant milestone for our team's dedicated effort. Our corporate mission centers on building close, personal relationships with customers and key stakeholders online, ideals prevalent within Social Media. To actually win this award, given our competition, would truly validate our success."

HCCMIS integrated Social Media communication, monitoring, and tools within the fabric of its day-to-day business. Many new innovations originated from interaction with customers and agents on Twitter. One particular example was the creation of an interactive website persona named Eva, an Online Travel Concierge, who provides personal services to customers when planning a trip overseas. Eva interacts with customers via Twitter, online chat, and even answers frequently asked questions about International Travel Health Insurance.

Recognized for its innovative approach to Social Media by the Houston Business Journal, HCCMIS wants to "enhance the healthcare experience related to insurance with the deeply personal and timely communication style people have become accustomed to through social media," according to Muhammad Yasin, HCCMIS Claims and Client Relations Manager.

Mira Award winners will be announced on Saturday May 15th at the 2010 Mira Awards Gala.
