Aegis Health Group to help Inova Health System increase market share

Aegis Health Group will help Inova Health System, a not-for-profit healthcare system based in northern Virginia, grow market share through its proven business development strategies. Using Aegis' program Inova's seven hospitals will begin working with local employers to better manage the health of their workforce and link hospital-sponsored programs and services with the specific health-related needs of local businesses.

The Aegis partnership applies to all of the hospitals in the Inova Health System, which include Inova Alexandria Hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital, Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, Inova Loudoun Hospital, Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, Inova Medical Center-Dulles South and Inova HealthPlex Franconia-Springfield. Together, these facilities represent 1,772 beds, and 3,318 physicians. Inova's hospitals logged 103,136 hospital admissions and 447,386 inpatient visits in 2008.

Through the agreement with Aegis, these hospitals will offer employers a cost-effective solution to address their rapidly rising health-related costs. Aegis will provide the hospitals proprietary tools and an employer relations specialist housed on each hospital campus to help make this happen. Using data gathered through personal health profiles, at-risk employees will be matched with appropriate early detection, prevention and education initiatives offered by the hospitals.

"With an increased focus on health improvement nationally, more and more hospitals are taking the lead in improving the health of their local communities," said Henry Ross, CEO of Aegis. "As hospitals establish lasting relationships with local employers and their workforce, they are able to grow market share and provide a valuable benefit to area residents. It's a win-win-win for everyone."

Aegis is the nation's leading healthcare business development company whose programs can currently be found in more than 4,000 employer sites across the country. Employers participating in these programs repeatedly recognize significant dollar savings in employee health costs, absenteeism, healthcare premiums, workers' compensation and other healthcare-related expenditures.
