Zargis Medical Corp., a majority-owned subsidiary of Speedus Corp. (Nasdaq: SPDE), today announced that its Zargis Cardioscan™ device and the compatible 3M™ Littmann® Electronic Stethoscope Model 3200 have jointly won a "red dot: best of the best" award as part of the internationally renowned "red dot award: product design 2010" competition.

The red dot design award, the origins of which go back to 1955, is the largest and most renowned design competition worldwide. In 2009 the competition recorded approximately 12,000 entries from more than 60 nations.

Cardioscan and the Littmann® Electronic Stethoscope Model 3200 were selected for the "best of the best" award from among more than 4,000 submitted products in the product design category. Following the award presentation, the Zargis Cardioscan software and the Littmann® Electronic Stethoscope Model 3200 will be displayed in the red dot design museum in Essen, Germany, which receives more than 120,000 visitors annually.

The Cardioscan heart sound analysis software is designed to help physicians analyze cardiac sounds for the identification and classification of suspected heart murmurs, which can be signs of heart disease.  In conjunction with the ZargisTelemed™ online portal, Cardioscan also allows healthcare professionals to transmit body sounds to colleagues located anywhere in the world.

"All products that have won an award in the red dot design award had to convince an international expert jury of their quality. The products stand out from the masses with their excellent design and innovative approaches and proved their quality in one of the toughest design competitions worldwide," explains design expert Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator of the red dot design award.
