USANA Health Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: USNA) today announced its acceptance as a partner in the State of Utah's Clean Utah program. Sponsored by Utah's Department of Environmental Quality, the program accepts businesses that commit to drafting and implementing a management plan for environmental issues. USANA is one of nine companies that have been accepted as partners since the program's initial partner was accepted in 2005.

“It means that our Environmental Management Plan has been reviewed and approved at both the state and federal levels, and that we have officially joined the ranks of other businesses across the country that are integrating commerce with sound environmental stewardship.”

"Achieving status as a Clean Utah Partner is an important milestone for USANA," said USANA Executive Vice President of Research and Development Tim Wood. "It means that our Environmental Management Plan has been reviewed and approved at both the state and federal levels, and that we have officially joined the ranks of other businesses across the country that are integrating commerce with sound environmental stewardship."

The Clean Utah program was designed to recognize facilities that are taking extra steps to reduce pollution. USANA drafted its environmental management system, USANA Green, in 2007 and has been operating under its direction ever since. USANA Green is led by employee volunteers who have implemented a comprehensive and long-term approach to helping the company protect, preserve and promote the integrity of the environment.
