IRIS International announces renewal of supply agreement with MedAssets Supply Chain Systems

IRIS International, Inc. (Nasdaq:IRIS), a leading manufacturer of urinalysis systems and consumables for use in hospitals and commercial laboratories worldwide, today announced that it has renewed a supply agreement for its full product line of automated and semi-automated urinalysis systems, related products, consumables and services agreements, with MedAssets Supply Chain Systems, one of the largest Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) serving healthcare providers nationwide. The new three-year contract is effective April 1, 2010.

"We are delighted to renew our supply agreement with MedAssets, a relationship which began in 2005, and which has been mutually beneficial to each of our organizations, as well as to the customers we serve," stated Thomas E. Warekois, President of the Iris Diagnostics Division.  "MedAssets serves more than 30,000 healthcare providers nationally including 3,300 acute care hospitals, and has been a key strategic partner for IRIS in providing our line of iQ®200 urine analyzers and related products across multiple markets including hospitals, laboratories and other healthcare-related facilities around the country. We look forward to continuing our close working relationship with MedAssets and continuing to bring automation to more of its laboratory customers in the years ahead," he added.
