Carefx granted exclusive rights to market and develop Cleveland Clinic business intelligence dashboards

Carefx Corp., a leading provider of interoperable workflow solutions, announced today that it has been granted exclusive license rights to market and further develop the Cleveland Clinic business intelligence (BI) dashboards that are a part of IntellisEPM, a Clinic start up.

Cleveland Clinic formed IntellisEPM to commercialize a number of its BI dashboards currently being used to manage business and clinical performance at Cleveland Clinic.  These drive performance through enhanced decision making by providing views of data relevant to the clinical or executive user. The dashboards leverage a BI technology platform to help accelerate performance improvement across the health system, including financial performance, workforce management, quality and patient experience. The dashboards, currently in use at Cleveland Clinic and other academic medical centers, produce comprehensive, customized reports on key performance drivers such as core measures, mortality, physician scorecard, throughput and patient experience.

"There are few contemporary tools available to hospital management that have the potential for impact as do business intelligence dashboards," said Chris Coburn, Executive Director of Cleveland Clinic Innovations, the Clinic's corporate venturing arm.  "These dashboards were developed by teams of Cleveland Clinic medical, operational and finance leaders to comprehensively drive performance throughout our institution."

Fusionfx, Carefx's interoperable workflow platform, provides browser-based access to real-time patient information by creating composite views of clinical information from multiple sources.  Fusionfx aggregates clinical data and delivers it to providers via a portal in formats that are customized and clinically intuitive.

"With the addition of the BI dashboards, we will be able to offer our customers a greater level of insight into their data to improve both financial and patient outcomes," said Andrew Hurd, Chairman and CEO of Carefx.  "That additional level of strategic business information will help healthcare institutions understand and act upon how their clinicians are performing, what patients are experiencing and where efficiencies can be made."
