TeleHealth Services, the nation's leading provider of health care grade televisions and interactive patient education solutions to hospitals, has been selected by St. Elizabeth Regional Health as a compliance partner in their new facility, St. Elizabeth East, located at 1701 S. Creasy Lane in Lafayette. St. Elizabeth East opened on February 25, 2010 and will benefit from TeleHealth's interactive educational solutions in an effort to increase patient satisfaction and create a patient-focused, technologically advanced facility.

The new facility will benefit from an array of TeleHealth's products including the nation's leading interactive patient education system, TIGR, nearly 300 LCD Philips healthcare televisions, and a full digital satellite and high definition television system. St. Elizabeth East will be utilizing a staged launch of the latest version of TeleHealth's TIGR interactive patient education system, V7 Duo. TIGR v7 Duo provides the hospital with several new enhancements to improve the quality of patient care in their facility. An enhanced user-friendly interactive graphic interface, custom care management curriculums, video descriptions and informational applications were designed to improve both clinical care processes and patient education. The TIGR interactive patient education system transforms the in-room television into an interactive recovery resource for both the patients and their families during a hospital stay. The high definition television system will provide St. Elizabeth East with a home-like patient viewing experience. The full solution is designed to provide an enhanced care experience and aid in providing optimal outcomes.

"With the new St. Elizabeth East, we have created a state-of-the-art hospital where the mission of healing starts at the top," said Terry Wilson, president and CEO of St. Elizabeth Regional Health. "TeleHealth Services will help expand the overall enhanced patient experience we are seeking at St. Elizabeth East. We are committed to increasing both patient safety and patient satisfaction, and we believe the TIGR system is pivotal to helping us achieve our aggressive goals in these areas. TeleHealth's full solution offering allows us to provide a rich, interactive and patient-centered experience while receiving a full offering of benefits."

"After considering quite a few providers, we decided to go with TeleHealth because of their experience in the industry. TeleHealth was able to provide us with a full solutions package that included the full design, implementation and support to allow us to meet our objectives. Their cutting edge interactive patient education system is imperative to our overall patient-centered focus," said Wilson.

TeleHealth's TIGR on-demand patient and staff interactive education system has been installed in over 400 hospitals across the United States.  The interactive patient education system will provide patients and their families with on-demand access to condition-specific patient education content and custom care plans. The new v7 software provides significant enhancements to the overall flexibility and performance of the interactive education solution including a new television driven graphical interface, enhancing the patient usability. The latest version of TIGR was created to offer a multi-dimensional approach to a patient's recovery plan. The uniqueness of each patient and the added functionality allows hospitals to design a care and recovery program based on individual needs and circumstances of each patient. Reaching patients during teachable moments with educational support provides immense benefits in continuity of care, improved patient outcomes, lower costs and reduced remittance rates. It also aids hospitals in meeting facility compliance and accreditation requirements.

"St. Elizabeth East is a state-of-the art, technologically advanced, patient centric facility and we are proud to be a part of this experience," said Dan Nathan, GM of TeleHealth Services. "Our solutions will help St. Elizabeth provide their patients with the latest in patient care and education, as well as access to great high-definition broadcasting. Working with the team at St. Elizabeth has truly been an honor and we look forward to building upon this strong relationship in the future."
