BioImagene launches digital pathology solutions suite in Europe

BioImagene, Inc., the leading provider of end-to-end digital pathology solutions, launched its suite of digital pathology solutions in Europe. The company will showcase these digital pathology solutions at the Woche der Pathologie Congress in Berlin, which takes place from May 27-30, 2010.

The European launch is a significant milestone for BioImagene and validates the tremendous growth of the company. In the last year alone, BioImagene has introduced two new scanning systems—the iScan Coreo AU and the iScan Concerto, as well as the next generation of its Virtuoso software with an expanded menu of Companion Algorithms for breast, prostate, colon, hematology, and gastrointestinal panels, a diagnostic workstation called the Crescendo and an innovative input device called the iSlide.

As part of the European expansion, BioImagene appointed Giancarlo Migliore as Director for European Sales and opened an office in Milan, Italy. The new office will provide expert sales and service support to the company's growing European customer base. Giancarlo Migliore, explained, "As part of our global expansion strategy, we have brought our combined expertise in image analysis and digital imaging to European pathology customers. BioImagene's solutions are well established in the United States and customers and collaborators include prestigious Academic Medical Centers such as Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Johns Hopkins, Stanford University Medical Center, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, University of Miami, University of Nebraska, as well as marquee Reference Labs including Lab Corp, Clarient Labs, Bio-Reference Labs, CorePlus, and Dahl-Chase Pathology Associates.

BioImagene's iScan Coreo AU and Virtuoso Digital Pathology software can be viewed at the Woche Der Pathologie conference in Berlin, from May 27-30, 2010. The conference will be held at the Berliner Congress Center (BCC) in Berlin. The solutions can also be viewed at the 10th European Congress on Telepathology and 4th International Congress on Virtual Microscopy that will be held in Vilnius, Lithuania from July 1-3, 2010.
