Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC), the world's largest company solely focused on data warehousing and enterprise analytics, today extended congratulations to the team led by Julie Boughn, Chief Information Officer at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), for prestigious recognition by the Federal CIO Council  (GSA). The 2010 CIO Council Leadership Award was presented to the CMS team at the 2010 IRMCO Conference for its innovative use of information technology to improve transparency and engagement with the public. As one of the flagship open government initiatives, CMS recently launched a digital online dashboard that allows the public to visualize and analyze Medicare spending with unprecedented ease and clarity. The CMS dashboard is an exciting new web application featuring graphic images that trends across several dimensions at CMS and is produced by MicroStrategy, a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software and long-time Teradata partner.

The CMS Dashboard, deployed by Maricom Systems, displays information fed by the CMS Integrated Data Repository, a large and growing Teradata enterprise data warehouse. The CMS Teradata system stores and manages data detail for billions of claims and reference data, with more than 280 million claims added monthly.

"We congratulate the thought leaders at CMS for earning these prestigious awards. The power of our software and database technology continues to attract the most innovative people to the Teradata community, and we are especially pleased when they are openly recognized," said David E. Scott, Vice President, Teradata Government Systems LLC. "These awards further validate that CMS people and processes supported by Teradata are world-class and we have every reason to believe they will achieve even more recognition for performance and value in the years ahead."
