Proskauer's Health Care Department plans to expand WVUHS transactions

Proskauer's nationally recognized Health Care Department has played a key role in plans to expand the West Virginia United Health System (WVUHS), already the largest health care system in West Virginia. WVUHS today announced its intention to purchase Saint Joseph's Hospital from Signature Hospital Corporation and to add Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital as an affiliate into the WVUHS system. The parties will be filing information about the transactions with both state and federal government agencies. The parties expect that the transactions will be completed in the first quarter of 2011.

Led by Monte Dube, a Chicago-based Partner in the firm's Health Care Department, and Colin Kass, a Washington, DC-based Partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department, the Proskauer team is representing both WVUHS and Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in the transactions.
