Reflecting the increased need for medical practices and healthcare facilities to streamline patient record processes in order to increase efficiency across a range of insurance and billing functions, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, will showcase an array of workflow simplifying solutions from its innovative imageFORMULA document scanning portfolio, including the new ScanFront 300P network scanner, at the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) 2010 Annual Conference, October 24-27, 2010 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Canon's imageFORMULA solutions can be found at the Canon booth #604.

“From small medical practices to large-scale healthcare operations, Canon's solutions can help ease the transition to the next-generation electronic record systems that will help control costs while improving patient outcomes.”

The imageFORMULA ScanFront 300P network scanner is a full-featured, easy-to-use and manage device developed to capture, convert and share documents across a network while improving the security of the data being shared and lowering overall workplace costs. Featuring a fingerprint reader to improve security, the Canon ScanFront 300P is an ideal solution for capturing documents in decentralized environments, and improves collaboration by allowing users to capture and share information seamlessly in central and field locations. The ScanFront 300P offers a color touch screen that allows for easy navigation as well as the ability to preview scanned images. The CanonScanFront 300P can also scan letter-sized documents at up to 30ppm and deliver document images directly to e-mail, FTP, shared-folders, fax, printer and USB drive.

"With healthcare providers facing the competing demands for more efficient access to patient information and increased medical record security, Canon is pleased to showcase the capabilities of our imageFORMULA scanner lineup," said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "From small medical practices to large-scale healthcare operations, Canon's solutions can help ease the transition to the next-generation electronic record systems that will help control costs while improving patient outcomes."

In addition to the imageFORMULA ScanFront 300P, highlights at this year's show include:

  • imageFORMULA DR-9050C Production Scanner: A high-volume, high image-quality document scanning solution, the Canon DR-9050C scans at speeds up to 112 ppm/225 ipm in color, grayscale and black and white. The DR-9050C captures images and text with clarity using three-line Contact Image Sensors at up to 600 dots-per-inch optical resolution, and incorporates a dust-free shading mechanism for exceptional image quality. Developed with Canon's unique feeding mechanism, the DR-9050C utilizes Ultrasonic Double Feed Detection, Rapid Recovery and Staple Detection to ensure reliable document scanning.
  • imageFORMULA DR-2510C Workgroup Scanner: A compact, easy-to-use solution, the Canon DR-2510C is perfect for mission-specific or casual use in a wide variety of workflows. The DR-2510C offers scanning speeds of up to 25ppm and 50ipm and comes bundled with a suite of innovative software packages including Canon CapturePerfect and CaptureOnTouch, Adobe Acrobat Standard, Nuance PaperPort SE, OmniPage SE and Presto! BizCard software.
  • imageFORMULA P-150 "Scan-tini" Personal Document Scanner: The Canon P-150's compact size and ease-of-use allows for document capture beyond the walls of the traditional office environment. The P-150 is ideal for use by "road warriors" and office users for general-purpose distributed document scanning applications, as well as check scanning in remote deposit capture applications. Measuring 11-inches long, 3.7-inches wide, 1.6-inches high and weighing just over two pounds, the Canon P-150 redefines the minimum dimensions of a document scanner with automatic document feeder. The P-150 can scan batches at up to 15 pages-per-minute (ppm) and 30 images-per-minute (ipm), yet still fits easily into a briefcase. For quick use and minimal set-up, the P-150 can use electrical power via a single USB cable connected to a PC, and when first connected, will immediately launch Canon CaptureOnTouch Lite through its "Plug-and-Scan" capability.

Delivering a practical demonstration of the advanced workflow capabilities and integrated functionality of Canon's imageFORMULA lineup with a variety of third-party software applications, the Canon booth will also feature the Canon DR-2510C Workgroup Scanner running in conjunction with the Abraxas solution.
