Emerging Healthcare Solutions President and CEO Cindy Morrissey is in Poland this week to seek out new medical technologies and investment opportunities for the company.

“The projects we've discussed thus far are truly eye-opening”

Morrissey will remain in Poland through next week, meeting with Polish scientists, consultants and academics about cutting-edge developments in the local healthcare research industry. She also plans to set up an EHSI business office inside the European nation.

"To uncover prime investment opportunities for our company, it is essential to travel abroad to Poland and other nations where leading-edge research is prioritized and supported," Morrissey said. "EHSI is fully committed to scouring the globe in search of the newest and most promising health solutions available and helping to market them to the world."

On Wednesday, Morrissey met with Piotr Mildner, CEO Advisor for Polypharma; and Andrzej W. Lipkowski, Professor of Medical Sciences at the Medical Research Center, Polish Academy of Sciences. These and other appointments scheduled throughout the duration of Morrissey's trip were designed to help familiarize her with the cutting edge of Polish healthcare research, including studies on stem-cell burn treatments and cures for sexually transmitted diseases.

"The projects we've discussed thus far are truly eye-opening," Morrissey said. "My hope is to build the foundations of lasting partnerships while I'm here."

Emerging Healthcare Solutions keeps a close eye on biotechnology research worldwide, particularly in relation to stem cells. Earlier this month, the company sent an advisor to the Bioinnovation International Summit (BIO-BiznesFinanseInnowacje) in Poland's Tricity area. In March, EHSI signed a profit participation deal with CelulasGenetica, a Panamanian biotech firm dedicated to developing cutting-edge medical solutions using adult stem cell research.

EHSI invests in technology developed to compete in the stem-cell research industry alongside Celgene Corporation (NASDAQ: CELG), Gilead Sciences Inc. (NASDAQ: GILD), Life Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: LIFE) and Illumina Inc. (NASDAQ: ILMN).
