St. Vincent's HealthCare to implement Orion Health HIE

Orion Health, the leader in health information exchange (HIE) and healthcare integration solutions, today announced that St. Vincent's HealthCare, a faith-based, not-for-profit health system in Jacksonville, Fla., has selected Orion Health HIE to connect disparate software systems and enable enterprise-wide sharing of clinical data as well as communications with community physicians.

“This, combined with the ability to view patient data from various systems on a single dashboard, will empower physicians that work with us to advance our organizational mission of providing unmatched care to the people of Jacksonville and the surrounding communities.”

St. Vincent's HealthCare will implement Orion Health HIE to ensure seamless, real-time views of patients' clinical history, drawn from various sources. Orion Health HIE includes Clinical Portal, an easy-to-use solution that provides a single view of the patient within and between facilities, organizations and regions; and is powered by Orion Health's Rhapsody integration engine, which deploys rapid inter-system messaging and efficient exchange of electronic data. Orion Health HIE will allow physicians associated with St. Vincent's to send and receive lab results, transmit orders, share transcribed reports and discharge summaries, and normalize the review of clinical data, among other uses.

"Orion Health's HIE solution provides our physicians with the ability to exchange patient-related data with their peers both in the facility as well as in the surrounding community," said Ann Carey, vice president and chief information officer, St. Vincent's HealthCare. "This, combined with the ability to view patient data from various systems on a single dashboard, will empower physicians that work with us to advance our organizational mission of providing unmatched care to the people of Jacksonville and the surrounding communities."

St. Vincent's HealthCare selected Orion Health HIE because of its ease of use, the scalability and flexibility of its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) deployment and its ability to integrate fully across a broad range of disparate software systems. Additionally, the hospital system saw value in Orion Health HIE helping to achieve Meaningful Use requirements.

"The legacy of St. Vincent's is rooted in providing comprehensive care and having strong ties to the community," said Paul Viskovich, president, Orion Health North America. "Orion Health is proud to partner with this important care provider as it continues to expand the clinical reach of its physicians and have an even greater positive impact on those living in the region."
