Republican candidate Rick Santorum is unveiling a new ad that will compare rival Mitt Romney to President Barack Obama, citing the Massachusetts health law Romney signed while governor.

Republican Rick Santorum complained bitterly Monday that a political action committee that supports presidential rival Mitt Romney is lying about his record... Santorum countered Monday by launching an ad attacking Romney, his first such ad of the campaign. The 30-second spot compares Romney with Democratic President Barack Obama for having spoken in favor of the 2008 banking industry bailout, and for signing a 2006 law requiring all Massachusetts residents to acquire health insurance (Beaumont, 1/16).

In last night's GOP presidential candidate debate in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, front-runner Mitt Romney described his approach to Medicare, which includes charging wealthier recipients more and including 'premium supports.' He also attacked the health law, the only candidate on the stage to discuss the law. Former Sen. Rick Santorum and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich both challenged Romney. The S.C. primary is on Saturday (1/17).
