The Doctors Company, the nation's largest insurer of physician and surgeon medical liability, is pleased to announce that it is now exclusively endorsed by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) as the preferred medical liability insurer for ACC members.

Qualifying ACC members who meet established requirements can receive liability premium savings of up to 15 percent through a 5 percent program discount, a 5 percent credit for maintaining board certification, and a 5 percent credit for participating in the PINNACLE Registry®. Some ACC members will also receive a claims-free credit based on their practice location.

"We are pleased that the ACC has exclusively endorsed The Doctors Company as its medical liability insurance carrier," said Richard E. Anderson, MD, FACP, chairman and CEO of The Doctors Company. "As the nation's leading insurer of cardiologists, we are proud to partner with this prestigious organization. The ACC's PINNACLE Registry® and The Doctors Company's patient safety initiatives are among the many important areas of mutual commitment we share to advance the practice of good medicine."

As part of the endorsement, the ACC and The Doctors Company will work closely together through the ACC Board of Trustees Medical Professional Liability Insurance Working Group to identify and resolve critical issues in medical liability within cardiology.

"We are excited to bring this partnership, and all of its benefits, to our members," said Jack Lewin, MD, CEO of the ACC. "The Doctors Company's financial strength, unique coverage, unrivaled claims defense, and reputation for excellence are impressive and deservedly respected."
