Memorial Healthcare System named among top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare

Memorial Healthcare System has been named one of Modern Healthcare magazine's 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare, ranking #3 nationwide among large companies of 1,000 or more employees. Memorial was the only healthcare provider in Florida to make the large-company list.

Healthcare employers from across the country participated in the Best Places to Work in Healthcare program, which is conducted by Modern Healthcare in partnership with Best Companies Group and sponsored by the Studer Group.

"For 60 years now, Memorial has worked to attract and retain the most dedicated and qualified employees in healthcare, and we know what it takes to do that," says Frank V. Sacco, FACHE, Memorial's President and Chief Executive Officer. "As a large public healthcare system, Memorial is proud to rank so highly compared to other best-in-class employers."

In addition to ranking third among the 11 companies in the large-employers category, Memorial ranked 37th on the full list of 100 Best Places.

Modern Healthcare is a weekly magazine, website and e-news service examining the most pressing issues in healthcare. The ranking methodology uses employer questionnaires and employee satisfaction surveys to identify workplaces that have been successful in creating supportive, engaging work environments.

The Modern Healthcare award is the latest in a long list of honors that Memorial Healthcare System has received as a top healthcare provider and a great place to work.

Truven Health Analytics ranked Memorial in the top quintile for large healthcare providers (more than $1.5 billion in operating expenses) on its 2013 list of Top Health Systems. Memorial had the second-highest net patient revenue in the nation among public healthcare systems on the Truven list, which is among the most well-known and respected "best" lists in healthcare.

Other honors include Florida Trend magazine's list of the Best Companies to Work For in Florida, on which Memorial has ranked this year and every year since 2009. The Florida Hospital Association named Memorial the Best Florida Hospital Workplace in 2012 and 2011; and Memorial was named one of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare by Becker's ASC Review/Becker's Hospital Review in 2011.
