Kindred Healthcare to acquire Synergy Home Care

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Synergy Home Care, a premier home health care provider that operates through 17 locations in Louisiana, has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Kindred Healthcare, Inc. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2013, pending regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.

Merging with the largest provider of post-acute care services in the country positions Synergy Home Care as part of a growing network committed to delivering the most coordinated care possible for patients.

Robert Fusco, Chief Executive Officer for Synergy Home Care, said, "Both of our organizations are a natural fit, sharing the same patient-centered values. Synergy Home Care is looking forward to becoming part of the Kindred Healthcare network, whose goal is to build out the full continuum of high-quality patient care in the post-acute area. We believe this strategy, along with our combined resources, bolsters our capabilities as we strive to deliver the best possible clinical outcomes in home health."

Synergy Home Care branch offices, as well as its headquarters in Clearwater, Fla., will continue operating as Synergy Home Care, an affiliate of Kindred at Home, the company's Care Management Division. Patients can expect the same care from the same team at the same location. There will be no interruption of service.
