AHC Enterprises, a subsidiary of the Health Collaborative of Greater Columbus, and Duet Health announced today the launch of Visit Helper™, now available at visithelper.com, iTunes, and Google Play.
"Visit Helper enables patients to have a better visit with their doctor or health professional which starts a cascading effect of positive health choices," said Jeff Biehl, President of AHC Enterprises. "People spend more time preparing to take care of their car than they do their body," said Biehl. "We want to enable them to be better healthcare consumers."
The Visit Helper program is an integrated web and mobile software that helps patients prepare for a visit with their doctor by preparing questions and discussion points in advance, providing tools during their visits, and then helping to create an action plan following their visit. Visit Helper was designed from the lessons learned in healthcare and following feedback from focus groups of patients regarding their challenges with their care. The Duet team designed the program to provide the flexibility of the various groups that are part of this next-generation's healthcare challenges.
According to research published in Health Affairs, patients with lower levels of engagement spend 21% more on their healthcare than patients with higher activation.
"The entire healthcare ecosystem profits from patients having a better visit with their doctor—patient happiness increases while their costs decrease. The health provider has better value and the insurance company has better value. There are few times when everyone wins, and this is one of them," said Jeff Harper, CEO and Co-Founder of Duet Health. "The magic happens when we use the feedback collected from the program to design even more meaningful interactions with patients and continue to empower patient programming."
"In the initial discussions we have had with providers, health plans, employers, and others, we are thrilled at the level of enthusiasm toward this product and the need for it," said Biehl.
Visit Helper will launch to select groups nationally starting today.
