Ed HarrisBeckman Coulter has appointed Ed Harris as its new Product Manager for IT in Northern Europe. Laboratory medicine contributes to 70% of those diagnostic decisions. These include the ability to monitor patient moving averages, enabling real-time Quality Control; automatic receipting of patient samples, reducing pressure on specimen reception staff; and predictive monitoring of analysers to allow proactive service intervention, avoiding analyser breakdown and disruption to service.

Maintaining confidence in results at all times is of course critical and regulators are now demanding more comprehensive quality control regimes. Another key part of my role is supporting the Beckman Academy Education programme which runs practical workshops to help our customers get the very most out of our data management systems.
